Give Us A Kiss

Back in January we posted a wrap photo from a shoot we did, and now we’re happy to display the tearsheet. We’ve shot for Bacardi before, and it’s always a fun shoot – less like work, more like a party!

In the Palm of Your Hand

Brian shot a job for Samsung a couple of months ago, and the ads are now on the streets – and beyond, as Brian handled the photography for the campaign while a film crew took care of the TV commercials.

Last year Brian shot some rugby players (go Chicago Lions RFC!!) who were more than happy to help us out on this job by getting outfitted in warrior costumes and fighting with each other all day. A taste of how that went:

In the Summertime, When the Weather is High…

…you can stretch right up and touch the sky… or you can find activities in Chicago Magazine’s annual Summer Hot List!

Brian created this shot on a windy day in early April with the aid of some of that magic we all count on, as well as a thoroughly dedicated crew. Whether you relax in the park after a bike ride, follow Sue the T. Rex on Twitter, or visit the many attractions and locations that make Chicago so great, we hope you all enjoy your summer from here on out (knock on wood – forecast to be in the 80s this weekend!). And if you’re out of ideas, check the list!

Bored in Chicago? That’s no excuse!

If you’re looking for things to do in Chicago this winter, Chicago Magazine has the answers! Their December issue features 93 Things To Do in and around Chicago. It also features a cover shot by Brian, which we’re all stoked on. Check it out right here!

Recent Past and Near Future

Greetings to the interwebs and all who roam them! We know our blog has been a bit quiet as of late, but that hasn’t been entirely unintentional; no, no, we’ve been busy working on many aspects of the Kuhlmann machine, including online presence and access for clients, fans, and even just people who stumble across our page completely by accident.

We’ve also been busy taking pictures! Don’t believe me? How about if I prove it with tearsheets from two recent jobs, the first batch for OfficeMax’s “Holiday Elf” advertising and the second for St. Louis Magazine’s “Party Fashion” spread.

T.G.I.F.

Yes it’s Friday, and even though Monday was a holiday (during which each of us here labored to enjoy ourselves), it has been one long and busy week here at Studio 101.

This week was fully taken up by a multi-faceted shoot with some iconic styling; that’s about all I can give away right now, but we’re all very proud of the shots that came out, and we’re looking forward to unveiling them in the future.

Today marks the monthly 2nd Friday Art Walk in Pilsen, but since we’re still dismantling the sets from this week, Studio 101 will not be open for it.  However we highly recommend you stroll around Pilsen and enjoy the weather as well as the other participants.  And Sep. 25-27 is the 39th Annual Pilsen East Artists’ Open House, during which we will definitely be open for business!  And by “business” we of course mean dropping by, hanging out, and checking out some new art from Brian, Joslyn, and potentially some other members of the Studio 101 team as well.

This week Brian’s work was featured in the annual Fall Theatre Preview inside Chicago Magazine.  Molly Brennan, the subject, was more fun than a barrel of monkeys (trust us – we ran tests!), and a good time was had by all.  Check out the tearsheet:

Tonight at least a couple of us will be venturing over to Family View, the latest offering from The Post Family Corporation, a group of cool creative cats if ever there were one.  And, well… there is.

This weekend looks to be one more wonderfully tenuous pre-fall occasion, so we encourage everyone to head outside and enjoy the beautiful weather while you still can!

Until next time,
